If she needs to have chemo, they most likely will give a steroid prior to each round which tends to increase blood sugar levels. The steroid is to prevent any type of allergic reaction to the chemo.

Jenny, Tell mom to frequently remind her doctor's and other caregiver's she is diabetic.... it is always good to make sure they remember about her condition. This is especially important for her to mention this before she has any procedure.... from drawing blood, to surgery, testing, and chemotherapy. Tell your mom, she will be ok. Take care, Sharon

Try again. I didn't have any problems with glucose levels. I had a double mastecty, but didn't need chemo , that may change if she needs it. I am on Lectrozole which can raise sugar levels. Good luck to your Mom
