My radiation team told me I can wear any deodorant I want to wear...just not 4 hours b/4 radiation...I have to say new territory is always a bit scary...God will guide us through it.

I believe everyone should use Crystal or Toms deodorant. They are aluminum free. We for years have been absorbing aluminum into our bodies where there are many lymph nodes. I hate to sound so strongly about this but why absorb things that are dangerous to us. You can find them in every drug store.

I was told to only use Toms. It stinks so I just didn't wear any. I just bathed good with the Dove soap.

I just opted not to wear any and do the little spit bath under the arms if I needed it. I was home almost all the time anyway.

I HIGHLY recommend Bubble and Bee organic deodorants. I found the Spearmint and Tea Tree cream works great. I'll never go back to any body product with aluminum in it - bad stuff. Take a look at their website ... http://www.bubbleandbee.com/servlet/the-Organic-Deodorants/Categories

Hi Norma, I was told no deodorants with metals in it because it might interfere with the radiation somehow. I am using the kind I used during rads. It's called crystal and Walmart sells it. It's a roll on and is approved for use with breast cancer. It also has no parbens in it. Hope this helps. Love and hugs.

Yes. I ordered 100 percent pure aloe Vera gel on line and used it along with the lotion the radiation oncologist gave me the entire time. I think it helped a lot . Still burned but not asbad as what I was hearing from others. Going through radiation is not to scary so don't worry. The worst of it was the tiredness but you just take a lot if naps. I'm pray Gods wall of protection around you Norma.

I did great with radiation but I also bought an awesome lotion from Gold Bond called Healing with Aloe. It's thick and really stays on the skin. My radiologist loved it.

Norma, I was told that I could use Tom's of Maine deodorant. I used Neutrogena bar soap in the shower. Lubriderm lotion unscented and pure aloe from a plant that a friend gave me.

I agree with all the above posts. If your deodorant contains aluminum *Heavy metal* you can have a reaction while being under radiation treatment. I used deo on the left side and nothing on my right side. I did not smell bad, but I would really just use a Toms deodorant, it's only for 6 weeks, and it's really not that bad. Gentle hugs :) radiation girl

Take heart! I'm done with my first 7 sessions and really feel no side effects yet. Still planning to work full days but I do rest at night. Using Aquaphor after treatments, then again before bed. Also using toms at night and crystal stick before work. Actually finding that I like them better than my previous deodorants. Stay strong...you can do this!
