I have to take a full body exam. What is that like and what should I expect?

If you mean a PET scan, I've had one of those. You drink a sugary drink, wait awhile and then they inject a radioactive substance into a vein in your arm. The scan itself is similar to a CAT scan where you are in a tube like machine.

Had my bone scan yesterday. They gave me an injection of some radioactive fluid and I had to lay on a bed very still while a large camera scanned over me very slowly. It was not scary, just a little unsettling. It was 2 inches above my face for about 2 minutes then it continued down my body.

I'm wondering why you decided on a mastectomy with DCIS ( if you don't mind me asking).

Hi Lori. I do not have DCIS. I have Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma. I hit send on the previous post before I could clarify. Anyway, I have two tumors in two different quadrants. Which is automatically a mastectomy.
