Anyone have any other treatments other than chemo for stage 2 breast cancer that is not anywhere other than the lymph nodes?

Kathy, Well DUH... don't I feel like an idiot! Your cancer is only IN lymph nodes! I am glad you are getting another opinion and that sounds like you are going about this in the best way. I hope they will set your mind at ease. Take care, Sharon

Hi Kathy,, This is truly a question for your oncologist. However, it ALWAYS depends on your type of cancer how treatment is done. Please ask if you can have the oncotype dx text done, it is very expensive, but most insurances cover a good deal, and if you made less than $125,000 income, you might be getting the testing done for free. Visit the oncotype dx website and you can learn more about it. http://www.oncotypedx.com/en-US/Breast/PatientsCaregiversInvasive But again, ask your team. Good luck.

Thanks! I think I might have had that test done back in 2011 and my number was on the lower side and oncologist said that chemo wouldn't have a big impact on it returning or not. Then in December of 2012 the cancer was found in two of my lymph nodes. Now he thinks chemo might be an option. I am seeking a second opinion at a cancer center near where I live in hopes that it will put my mind at ease in terms of treatment options.
