Stay strong! It seems like a long road ahead, but you will be surprised at how fast it will go by. Reach out to others and don't be afraid to ask for support.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I found out the day before my 35th bday that I had cancer. test showed beginning stage of cancer, but I decided to have a mastectomy. once the pathology report came back I ended up with stage 3c. I was in shock and so scared. Once I got my treatment plan things move along fairly quickly. Last week was a year since I finished chemo. Cancer changed my life! I look at things in a whole different way. Surround yourself with positive people. Having a good strong support group helped me. stay strong and fight! I will keep you in my prayers best of luck to you!

Kim we are all here for you. You are never alone in this. We all understand your fear. When we hear those horrible words, our world as we know it is gone. Everything changes & it's such a scary whirl wind! Just hang on & know the dr's have a plan taylor made to your needs. It seems like such a long time. I promise it goes by fast. You need to stay positive, your going to be ok. Make the best of it. Don't look at it as, 5 long months of chemo - it's ONLY 4 treatments (or how many you have) and so on. I don't even consider the tamoxifen as medicine. It's just a daily pill I take to keep myself healthy - like a vitamin. If it makes you feel any better, I had a lumpectomy, bilateral mastectomy with recon. 6 doses of TCH, 36 doses of H, 2 more recon surgeries, & taking hormone blocker for 10 years. I heard those words Feb 2012. It's been 15 months now, I'm in the finial stage of my tattooing - should only be 1 more session, & I'm loving life!!!! Stay strong, you can do this too. Feel free to contact me. Supermom654@gmail.com Prayers to you.

Kim, it's only natural to be scared and a little panicked with all that you are going through. There is no way to prepare for cancer before hand, it is so unexpected and unwelcome. It is such a shock and something we just aren't given a choice about. As much as we would rather not, we have to deal with it one way or the other. Just take it one step at the time. It is not easy , but we have to do it, and I know with God's help you will get through this. It will not last forever. You are going through treatment so that you will have a long and happy life. I'm praying that God will give you the love and comfort that you need to help you through. He is always there and does not leave us to go through this alone.

My biggest crying day was when everyone went back to work after Christmas Break and I did not! Cancer fighting is a different life! As one of the nurses told me- you are having trouble because you are not seeing that good right now is feed yourself healthy, take a walk, take a nap, love your people and call it a good day! There are many women who can do more than that and I wanted to be them! .... But my side effects of treatment needed more rest., and I got there to get it- just took me longer! Each if us has a different set point for the new normal- full range from little side effects to many side effects. Hope for the best!!!!!!

I have a long treatment plan too and we are similar in age. I read and became very knowledgable before chemo. Once I started chemo I switched from reading and learning and crying to crying resting and kicking it Going through the emotion of morning your old normal is devastating. The first full week off of work was worst for me. You gotta manage or push through so you can establish a new normal. Breathe. Breathe breathe my friend

Kim We cannot be strong 24/7, but you have a very strong and positive spirit. I allow myself 24 hours to feel "funky" then know I will awaken positive again. You cannot do this by yourself. Place every fear in God's hands, take a deep breath, and walk away, knowing that He is taking care of them. You are not alone ! Love and prayers. Mary De.
