I was diagnose with invasive lobular cancer in sept. 2010. 8 cm tumor and 8/10 positive lymph nodes on the right. I opted for a bilateral mastectomy and the sentinel nodes were positive on the left. The doctor finally found a 7mm tumor on the left. All my mammograms were negative. Thank god I chose bilateral mastectomy. I was stage 3 on the right and stage 2 on the left. I had dose dense ACT chemo for 16 weeks and 6 weeks of radiation. I waited a while for reconstruction. In 3/12 I had the diep reconstruction on the right. Unfortunately being quite thin I only had enough tissue for 1. I have a implant on the left. No regrets on any of my surgeries. I am now on tamoxifen for 5 years. I worry about reoccurence but choose not to live in fear.
