Does this numbness ever go away? The numbness along with double mastectomy scars makes me feel like I've been walloped with a 2 x 4.

I had my mastectomy six months ago and I would say I have about 90 percent of feeling back so it will get better with time. Good luck -

Mine was 2010 and I got most feeling back on my right side some spots are still numb. I was told after two years if u don't get it back by then forget it. Not me I beg to defer I do everything I can find to get this back. Good luck never give up. -

Hi Patricia! I also had numbness but now, nearly 5 years later, I do have some feeling returning. At first, I had many sensations, itching seeming to be the most frequent. We can all probably give you many different stories about sensations we have where breasts used-to-be. I still have numbness but it no longer bothers me. Things change over time. The part of the treatment that bothered me the most is where the port for chemo was placed. The scar is really ugly, but the itching nearly drove me crazy the first couple of years. There is a large indentation in my upper chest too. How could such a small thing be such a pain-in -the-rear? I hope things start changing for the better.....SOON! Thanks all. Feels better knowing others have it too. I bought myself some lovely prosthetic c's and wearing them actually makes the numbness more bearable - the soft silicone against my skin I guess. And best of all - they stay upright when I lie down.....
