That is a hard word for me to write, but it is the correct answer. We live with the possibility of a recurrence for the rest of our lives. We all have different ways of coping with this. Some do not cope at all or we have periods of intense sadness associated with this knowledge. Others park it somewhere and refuse to spend time on it, other than through bare necessity.
My way of coping is to have a Survival Plan [Livestrong have templates but there are others on the internet you can download] where I keep all my health information and stick to the health check regime that fits my needs. I am 2.5 years from surgery. My first year was fine - I suspect I was still operating on adrenalin. The last six months have not been good because my total health has deteriorated and I really miss being able to do what I used to do.
