I think we are all in agreement that the expanders are horrible..hopefully it helps to know that you are not alone. I cannot wait to get mine out on July 25th.....I feel like a little kid anxiously awaiting a trip to Disney!! ;-) Stay Strong!! ps...try using two pillows at night to prop yourself up, one behind you and one in front w/ your arm over it.

Vickie, hang in there, it does get better. I don't know how far along you are, but towards the end, the pain goes away. I know it feels like a bra that is 10 times too small. You can ask your PS for a muscle relaxer. &/or tell him how sore you are and space out your fills more. Or don't get so much at one time. Also, for the hot flashes, you can talk to your onc about Effexor. It really helps. All worth it in the end. Prayers to you.

I use complete menopause formula (soy free) from nature something or other. They sell it at Walgreens. It saved my life from hot flashes & night sweats. And is onc approved. As far as the expanders go....they suck, right? I can't wait to get mine out.

One mor thing....I know some women praise Effexor. But PLEASE research it before you use it. It took me 4 years to get ff of. It causes SSRI discontinuation syndrome which changes your brain chemistry for life!

So sorry you're in pain. I hated my expanders and found Valium very helpful esp at night. Once ur done getting filled, u get used to them. I also have the same estrogen situation as you. I just got my implants 2 weeks ago and they feel like heaven. Because I'm BRCA2 positive I'll be having my ovaries out in 2 weeks..can't wait for those hot flashes! Hang in there..u r not alone and have all of us here to help u!

Mine hurt when I got alot of saline injected, reduce the amount. I finally finished surgery number 3 of my reconstruction. I am now fine. It will get better. Less is better for pain tho. Blessings and hang in there. All I thought bought was no more chemo, no more chemo,no more chemo...that helped

I guess I am lucky. My PS always asks me to tell him if the fill is causing pressure then he stops. It might take more sessions to get me finished but I just have mild discomfort, no pain. About 70 per fill.

Ask for a muscle relaxant. Helps a lot. Loosens the pec muscles that are trying to resist the stretch.
