Hi, I can't be sure if it was the radiation or expander, but I did have 2 fractured ribs. Around here and I'm sure other places, they will no longer do expanders/implants if the patient has radiation. I tried it when I opted for a 2nd mastectomy since I was "young", Stage III with more then 1/2 my lymph nodes positive, and wanted to get rid of places it likes to come back to. I don't regret having both breasts remove, my only regret is trying reconstruction. I could have gone with the tram or LD Flap, but wasn't willing to being in pain for 3-4 months, which at that time and I'm assuming still now, is the recovery time. Most I had talked to had multiple infections and tissue that died using the Tramp. And of course the cancer can still come back in that tissue.

Wow, you are talking about what I am considering. I opted for radiation prior to the expanders and now want the flap. I haven't had it yet, I am anticipating the pain and recovery time. I had a single mastectomy lymph pos. diagnosed in 2009. ...
