To find a facility near you, you can go to this link that is provided by National Breast Cancer Foundation and FujiFilm: http://www.imagesofhealth.com/pages/facility-locator.php. I would recommend calling the facility that you choose to make sure that you qualify for their program. If for some reason you do not, try another facility.
I hope this helps you. It is so important to get a mammogram.

Learning About Breast CancerHi Nicole, I have co-pays also I don't have to pay every time I get my treatments (radiation)
I have Aetna HMO hope this helped
Good luck to ya
Hi Nicole, just finished 7weeks of radiation. I have co-pays as well, but they did not collect them each day. I am being billed for them only now. The insurance paid their portion, and I got billed for the rest

Best wishes with your road to recovery!
I agree with Diana. You can also talk with your doctor about options he/she is aware of. If they don't know of any, keep trying different doctors. God bless you.

Learning About Breast CancerI would contact the American Cancer Society, Planned Parenthood, and Susan G. Komen Foundation. They would be sources of information for your Mom's treatment.
Take care, Sharon
Comment 3I would also contact the state you live in to see if they have sort of plan for women with breast cancer. I would also contact the state you live in to see if they have sort of plan for women with breast cancer. I live in New Hampshire & New Hampshire & Maine have a "no women be left behind" progam (Breast & Cervical Cancer program). I am on that & once I was diagnosed I automatically was approved for Medicaid (but only for the breast cancer) What a relief it was not to have to worry about the bills. GOOD LUCK!

If there is not a facility that we partner with near you, call your local hospital. Most hospitals have programs in place that help women who cannot afford mammograms.
Kaye, the breastcancersite.com actually helps raise money to fund NBCF mammograms! Great resource.
Good luck!

I'd also check with the American Cancer Society chapter in your area. Please get some help as soon as you can for, at least, your own peace of mind. This is a terrible weight of worry to be carrying around. You will be happy to know so many of these things turn out to be NOT breast cancer! Please keep in contact with us.... we are here to support any woman if you need us. Hang in there and thankfully, there is help out there for you. Big hugs, Sharon

Learning About Breast CancerI have IDC too. I'm not getting treatment at a breast center but my oncologist and breast surgeon are working together on my plan.. They communicate w each other and it's been good. I'm 2/3 of the way through chemo and then surgery and radiation. Best of luck! Julie
2 comments 1You can petition to go to another facility . Just have the place you want to go send in the forms . It should be worry free on you side . Like all my doctors talk . That's to much for you . Your health department should have a cancer advocate . They helped with insurance and a ton more

Roberta,
My other "Sisters" here have given you good advice about where to check for care. Right now, what you need is a mammogram. I would also check with the closest American Cancer Society, Planned Parenthood, Susan G. Komen.Org. The latter two, generally have funding for free mammograms. October, is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You have proven in spite of so many tough breaks in your life to be one stong cookie and a complete and total survivor. I wouldn't go pushing the breast cancer panic button. So many times, these can turn out to be nothing more than a scary time! Please start checking these places TOMORROW! I want you to get in to have a mammogram somewhere asap. We care about what you are going through right now. PLEASE keep in touch with us. We will help and support you as much as we can out here. Take care and God's blessings, Sharon

That is scary. My new insurance started March 1 . So far I have only had to deal with getting my prescriptions filled. After waiting two weeks for approval, I will find out tomorrow if they will cover my meds. These are meds for a chronic illness and I have been on them for years. It is an expensive plan, and I am not happy.
