That is the question that everyone wants to know. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no definitive answer. Yes, some do loose their battle to breast cancer. But with new advancements everyday, more and more women are overcoming their cancer. This is not a one-size-fits-all disease, so each diagnosis, each treatment, is different. But with hope and support we can beat this! And all of us are proud to say "I am a survivor!"

Survivor since 2003I have been on tamoxifen nearly 3 years just had a hysterectomy because I had thickening on my uterus, a side effect of the tamoxifen. The original plan was tamoxifen 3 years & then take ovaries out & go to an AI. I questioned why not hysterectomy & dr had an ultrasound which found the excess...

The original plan was tamoxifen 3 years & then take ovaries out & go to an AI. I questioned why not hysterectomy & dr had an ultrasound which found the excess tissue. I now will be going on an AI but don't know which one yet.

Hi Saphira, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Stage 2A 5 years and 6 months ago. As I write this answer I am still Cancer Free and determined to make a difference in this world by brining awareness and helping women and men to know that early detection is the key to Amy type of cancer. I am currently 58 years old and working with many breast cancer survivors . Stay positive spiritual and know that this to shall pass!!
My sister in law had stage 4 in both her breast and limp nodes she is about to celebrate her 10 year cancer free jn feb :) positive thoughts all the way !

I asked my oncologist the same question 5 1/2 years ago and was told that it is the date that you are diagnosed. However, you may want to verify with your Dr.
