I was recently diagnosed (9-28-12) with stage one breast cancer at 51 years old. Two spots in the right breast. One is ductal carcinoma in situ, the other invasive ductal carcinoma. My doctor doesn't think the invasive spot has spread to the sentinal lymph node yet based on certain characteristics of the biopsied tissue that she explained to me at the time of diagnosis (I don't remember exactly what she said, just that it was a positive outlook for the lymph nodes NOT being involved). I heard of this site from my son's girlfriend and I think the site is wonderful. My husband and I meet with my doctor on Tuesday (today is Friday) to decide on treatment, most likely a lumpectomy with radiation and hormone therapy. I'm still processing the diagnosis but am optimistic that I will have a favorable outcome. Cancer's not gonna kick my ass!
