Recently diagnosed in August 2014 after routine mammogram. After they did a sonogram it showed a suspicious area and underwent a biopsy which confirmed that it was cancer. The actual tumor was just over 1 cm , so I was sent for an MRI of the breast to see if there was anything else hiding out . Another area lite up with the MRI so they did another biopsy but thankfully that was negative. They did a lumpectomy and SLN removal on October 15th. Surgery went well, SLN negative and clear margins...will need radiation therapy so I am scheduled to see the radiologist oncologist and will also be seeing a Medical Oncologist if any medication also needed. The tumor was ER and PR positive. Breast is still very sensitive, feels like it has a sunburn and all fabrics irritate it. My prognosis is excellent since it was found very early , but it is definitely a major bump in the road but I have a very positive outlook!
